Accounting/HR Associate

Woodrow, a growing manufacturer in the Springfield area, is seeking a candidate that is self-motivated and a creative thinker. This position will work in the corporate office finance department to support the accounting, general ledger, and human resources functions for various divisions.

Responsibilities include:

Accounting

Provide a variety of routine and non-routine accounting support to the Finance Department.

  • Processes payroll following timecards being imported to the point of hand off to our third-party payroll company.
  • Oversees purchasing and works with sight management to support inventory levels.
  • Maintains Equipment asset lists for all locations
  • Processes entries to online accounting system, POS systems and reconciles accounts.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts and processes necessary reconciling entries.
  • Reconciles bank accounts.
  • Assists in researching discrepancies for monthly financials.

Human Resources

· Processes job postings both internal and external in accordance with policies and budget.

  • Completes all onboarding documentation and employee files
  • Provides general orientation packets to the hiring supervisor.
  • Coordinates paperwork for leave of absence and short-term disability.
  • Manages licensure, education, and training documentation.
  • Supports the Policy & Procedure manuals
  • Maintains confidential information.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or Associate’s degree with two years relevant work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and database tools
  • Experience with Quickbooks a PLUS
  • Excellent organizational, communication, project, and time management skills
  • Independent thinker with problem solving abilities
