Job description
Performs general accounting duties to support the tasks of the Human Services Department. This includes processing, recording, and summarizing financial information for both internal and external consumers. Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the Human Services Department. Performs in a manner consistent with the HSD Professional Standards and Commitment to My Co-Workers.
95% - Comprehensive Community Services Program (CCS) Fiscal Support
- Accounts Payable Clerk for CCS Program - highlighted duties to include:
- Verify prior service authorizations with provider invoices
- Data Entry invoices into electronic health records system (Avatar)
- Create batch disbursement in financial system (Finance Enterprise)
- Maintain master ledger as it pertains to incoming and paid invoices.
- Prepare department reports as relative and needed
- Problem solving as it relates to CCS contracted provider claims with staff and providers.
5% - Other Duties as Assigned
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- General knowledge of bookkeeping (creation of journal entries) and Human Service programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficient data processing skills.
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and various accounting software.
- Ability to work with internal staff and outside agencies to ensure accurate information and correct payments.
High School graduate supplemented by coursework in bookkeeping and four (4) or more years of responsible bookkeeping experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Physical elements:
- Ability to stand, walk and sit
- Ability to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs of force frequently
Equipment use:
- Ability to use computer and computer keyboard
- Ability to use standard office equipment
