Position Overview
The College of Visual Arts & Design at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Academic Advisor to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Educating students on how to plan their academic pathways in keeping with general education and degree plan requirements; degree audits; graduation application processing. * Assisting with prospective students, orientations, and graduation events.

“This position is part of the CVAD’s advising team and helps address the increasing need of students impacted by COVID . The pandemic has resulted in lost K-12 instruction time, and a consequent decrease in college readiness among entering students – a trend that will remain in place for years to come. In addition, many students who matriculated during the pandemic need additional support, having missed out on some of the benefits of face-to-face instruction and social interaction due to the pandemic. Advisors will provide resources for students to navigate issues by providing interventions, referrals, and follow-up services.”
