Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time visual arts teacher beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. Course content includes foundational art classes, digital photography, yearbook and enrichment. We are a private Catholic School located in the heart of east Akron and rooted in the Holy Cross tradition. Position Responsibilities:

• Teach college preparatory curricula and assignments that align with school standards in a block schedule.
• Demonstrate innovative planning and organization and maintain classroom expectations.
• Bring experience with, or are open to, various methods and techniques to meet the needs of the students and course objectives.
• Encourage and foster a culture of mutual respect.
• Participate in the development of teaching policies, procedures and methodologies.
• Build and create authentic assessments that constantly provide sound practice and feedback resulting in student growth and development.
• Evaluate and report student progress as scheduled.
• Participate in extracurricular school programming, including moderating student club(s), is highly encouraged.
• Communicate with parents/guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.

Qualifications:

• New graduates or experienced teachers who hold a valid Ohio licensure in Art.
• Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to work with school technology (use of academic software, Google, etc.).
• Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of investigation. Have attended or willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
