JOB SUMMARY:
Encompass Youth Services is currently hiring for a full-time Bilingual (Spanish/English) Mental Health Therapist in our Intensive Support Services (ISS) program with experience providing clinical services for youth and families. The ISS program provides an array of outpatient Mental Health services to Medi-Cal eligible youth under the age of 21 and their families residing in Santa Cruz County to learn and use skills to support emotional well-being, manage symptoms, increase resiliency, and improve overall functioning.
The ISS Mental Health therapist provides field-based services that include assessment, behavioral intervention, parent/caregiver support, individual and family counseling, skill building, and child family team meetings. Essential to this position is a therapist who has experience working with youth and families, strong clinical skills, excellent documentation and time management skills, and can work collaboratively with other service providers. The position is full time with some evening hours to accommodate family needs.
Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and facilitate Child Family Team (CFT) meetings
- Complete behavioral analyses, psychosocial assessments, and treatment plans
- Provide field based mental health therapy and rehabilitation services
- Maintain appropriate and timely documentation through the Avatar billing system
- Attend weekly individual and group supervision
- Work closely with Children’s Behavioral Health and other community providers
- Represent the agency in a professional and collaborative manner that fosters positive working relationships with other agencies and agency representatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling – with BBS Associate Registration
OR
Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- Clinical experience in specialized areas of youth, family systems, and mental health
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Reliable personal vehicle with vehicle registration and current car insurance
- Proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
- Criminal Record Clearance, TB clearance, and proof of COVID vaccine and booster before hire.

We provide excellent clinical supervision for mental health therapists earning hours towards licensure including weekly individual and group supervisions. Our clinical supervisors are highly experienced and qualified licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Social Workers who are passionate about their role in supporting clinician who are new to the mental health field.
COVID-19 STATEMENT:
This position provides both remote, telehealth and in-person services. COVID 19 safety protocols are strictly enforced (social distancing, masks) when providing in-person services. Services are provided in our Youth Services clinic sites and in the community in the client’s school or other confidential community settings. COVID-19 vaccination and booster is required for all Encompass employees.
