Overview:
Youth Mentors for Teen Boys Program at Calo
Pay: $17.00/hr
Shift: Days 12pm to 9pm Wednesday through Friday and Saturday 9am to 9pm

Responsibilities:
To thrive in this role, you must be able to:
  • Ensure all students have finished their assigned chores–including cleaning of the team home–and taken care of their personal hygiene
  • Exhibit patience and calm under pressure
  • Hold firm boundaries with students
  • Demonstrate empathy and caring
  • Form a bond with students based on trust
  • Encourage fun in our “Milieu” (an atmosphere largely devoid of negative influences) where students learn socialization skills
  • Work as part of a team to help students move toward healing
  • Accompany students on outings and Adventure Therapy
  • Participate in animal-assisted therapy that emulates the human foster/adoption process and teaches caring and healthy attachment
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 or over
  • Is able to pass State and Federal background checks
  • Has a good attendance record
  • Loves Golden Retrievers–they are literally everywhere on our campus!
  • Is excited, can work over time, wants to explore new shifts, roles, and opportunities for career growth
