Job description

Milk River LLC is looking for a FULL TIME Shag Driver. Must be able to work swing shifts, 2day/2nights and weekends.

Maneuver trailers around yard staging locations on the Inbound and Outbound sides of the facility. Must be able to work independently and within a team.

• Operate spotter truck, moving trailers between trailer yard and dock doors and logging all trailer moves to maintain accurate yard inventory.
• Repeatedly climb in and out of the tractor to hook, unhook, inspect & lock trailers, and conduct yard checks.
• Must be able to back trailers up to dock doors, often with other trailers on either side of the dock.
• Operate a walkie-talkie to make requested moves of trailers from door to yard or yard to door in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
• Record the location of all trailers while on the premises.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers.
• Report any damage to trailers/tractors or company property immediately to the foreman on duty.
• Report any malfunctions or problems with the yard truckers as soon as the problem is noticed.
• Will be required to perform other tasks within the facility when yard moves are not required at certain periods of time.
• Must be able to continually stand, bend, stoop, twist, and reach. o Must be able to continually lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise up to 30 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to occasionally climb ladders.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in verbally and in writing with associates, supervisors, and managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. o Must be able to work required schedule for the job.
• Must be able to meet and sustain reasonable performance expectations for role.
