Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate work assignment schedules from a global perspective on a week ahead basis for all Overhead Lines field personnel. Plan routine work assignment schedules; plan for complex situations with support from more experienced peers. Work to create consensus daily between internal customers and field supervision
- Receive emergency work, evaluate available resources, and assign work to the most optimum field personnel for immediate action. Escalate complex situations as needed.
- Prepare Work Plans that balance available hours with Capital and Non-Capital workload
- Evaluate Projects, Preventative Maintenance, and Corrective Maintenance work; Schedule according to the Work Plan and weekly/daily schedule availability
- Analyze and may recommend overtime requirements by managing work schedules that maintain balance between types of work, work force availability, reliability, cost, and customer commitment
- Assist various operating groups with work prioritization to determine construction needs and schedules
- Conduct weekly schedule meetings and coordinate monthly work plan meetings with relative stakeholders
- Review and understand preconstruction requirements to support the successful completion of such, Coordinate all aspects prior to scheduling with support from more senior members as necessary.
- Coordinate with relative groups for timely and efficient scheduling of work, and communications with internal and external customers for rescheduled work
- Understand circuit mapping and submission of clearance requests when necessary for scheduled work to obtain proper safety related outages for construction
Additional Responsibilities:
- All personnel must follow all Company and Department procedures and regulations, including safety requirements
- Participate in storm role duties
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; planning/scheduling experience also preferred and minimum 2+ years related work experience is required.
- In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, a 2-year technical discipline degree and minimum 4 years related work experience is required. Related work experience includes knowledge of planning/scheduling of work, construction and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment, and tools which would be used to determine the resources necessary to perform construction and maintenance work activities
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written, to ensure effective and accurate information sharing, assignment of work, etc.
- Analytical ability to ensure efficient and accurate review of reports, system exceptions, issues and/or errors
- Ability to complete concurrent projects to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate deadlines are met
- Ability to plan and direct the work of others
Decision Impact:
Independent discretion or decision making capability is mostly limited. There is normally a general framework of established boundaries to help employees perform their roles and make decisions. Situation that require deviation form this general framework are typically not made alone. The employee may recommend a solution however the recommendations are frequently presented to their manager or more senior level professionals for review and approval prior to the decision being made.
Scope:
Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing ones own time and work flow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work is typically of moderate complexity requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed
Work Environment:
The position is considered
variable on-site, meaning this position will primarily work remotely and may be required to report to the office or another location on a regular or occasional basis. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs
Physical Requirements:
This position requires driving to various job sites, many of which are unimproved. Review of the work requires walking and climbing inside energized substations, unimproved sites, on city streets. The environment subjects the incumbent to continuous exposure to construction site dust, dirt, outdoor cold, fumes, liquids, noise and street traffic. The hazards consist of energized high voltage lines and equipment, open excavation and trenches, protruding reinforcing bar, and moving construction equipment.

Reporting location is to be determined but will be at one of the five Service Center locations
