Winder Operator: Position Grade C(Entry-level)

Position Objective

To follow all policies, rules, procedures and responsibilities defined in order to meet customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Report directly to Sr. Winder; responsible for safety, quality, and production
• Comply with all written and verbal safety rules, using personal protective equipment in accordance with Department and Plant safety plans
• Assist adjoining line, as needed during operational problems to minimize downtime and increase department efficiency
• Properly maintain and care for equipment reporting any issues requiring immediate attention
• Housekeeping, ensure that lines are kept clean and orderly, complying with daily housekeeping requirements
• Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Sr. Winder Operator
• Attends site training classes
• Comply with Plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices
• Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required
• Able to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace

Physical Activity Required For This Position

• Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
• Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
• Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: Changing paper in printer, copier machine.
• Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
• Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Winder Operator : Position Grade B
Position Objective

• Completion of QC Certification
• Test film properties according to Specifications
• Notify Sr. Extrusion or Extrusion Tech of any quality issues
• Able to slab rolls and cut scrap winder. Wear proper PPE
• Comply with all written and verbal safety rules, using personal protective equipment in accordance with Department and Plant safety plans
• Maximize throughput in accordance with operating instructions and / or SOC's
• Initiate timely line adjustments to correct quality issues, in accordance with operating procedures and / or troubleshooting manual
• Closely monitor all rear-line, as needed during operational problems, to minimize downtime and increase department efficiency
• Assist adjoining line, as needed during operational problems to minimize downtime and increase department efficiency
• Properly maintain and care for equipment reporting any issues requiring immediate attention

Winder Operator : Position Grade A

Position Objective

To follow all policies, rules, procedures and responsibilities defined in order to meet customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Report directly to Sr. Winder; responsible for safety, quality, and production
• Maximize throughput in accordance with operating instructions and / or SOC's
• Test film properties according to testing frequency
• Ensure good quality products according to Specifications
• Able to slab rolls and cut scrap winders. Wear proper PPE
• Enter information in the LIMS System
• Grind scrap generated during changeovers and web breaks
• Initiate timely line adjustments to correct quality issues, in accordance with operating procedures and / or troubleshooting manual
• Closely monitor all rear-line, as needed during operational problems, to minimize downtime and increase department efficiency
• Assist adjoining line, as needed during operational problems to minimize downtime and increase department efficiency
• Properly maintain and care for equipment reporting any issues requiring immediate attention

Winder Operator: Position Grade Sr

Position Objective
Supervise the daily activities of the department
Duties & Responsibilities

• Attends site training classes
• Completion of QC Certification
• Able to train other operators on how to slab rolls and cut scrap winder
• Notify Sr. Extrusion Tech or Extrusion of any quality issues immediately
• Assist operators with entering information in the LIMS System
• Plans ahead during changeovers and cleaning preparation to minimize downtime
• Ensure that the scrap generated during changeovers, web breaks and slitting scrap is disposed of in a timely manner
• Comply with all written and verbal safety rules, using personal protective equipment in accordance with Department and plant safety plans
• Ensure all aspects of winding operation are in accordance with line instructions and SOC's
• Closely monitor line, being alert for mechanical and/or quality issues, making frequent visual checks for optical defects in the film
• Closely monitor all rear-line functions (TDO exit back) to ensure line is consistently running within SOC's and / or operational requirements
• Assist adjoining line, as needed during operational problems, to minimize downtime and increase department efficiency
• Properly maintain and care for equipment, reporting any issues requiring immediate attention
• Housekeeping - ensure that area of responsibility is kept clean and free of debris, in accordance with daily housekeeping requirements
• Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Extrusion Technician
• Overtime as required
• Ability to fill for Extrusion Technician when deemed necessary
• Assist in training of winder operator
