Position: Wedding Attendant

General Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating wedding and rehearsals scheduled in the church or chapel. Duties include ensuring that the facilities are unlocked, monitored, equipment set up, cleaned up and building secured.
Principal Accountabilities:
Contact Bride and Groom at least 2 months before date of wedding to answer questions and explain parishes expectations.
Prepare Wedding Checklist Form including information on specifics on number of bridesmaids, groomsmen, where to dress, musicians, photographer and our guidelines, and liturgy planning, clean up.
Arrive 15 minutes before assigned time with bride and groom to do rehearsal.
Conduct Rehearsal.
Secure church or chapel.
Arrive 15 minutes before assigned time with bride and groom for wedding.
Prepare Church or Chapel, set out kneelers, mikes, be sure there is plastic for candelabras, church is clean, lights are on and church is cooled or heated.
When wedding is over, responsible for clean up if not done by wedding party, checking brides room and restrooms, returning equipment, turning off lights and securing building and reporting any problems and repair needed in the church/chapel.
Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc., as assigned.
Travel Requirements:
Some travel required, zero percent of the time.
Education and Experience Preferred:
High School diploma or GED.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of the Catholic Church, Catholic sacraments, Catholic rites and liturgies
Prior Wedding coordinating knowledge helpful.
Bi-lingual recommended.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
This position does not work in a typical office environment, but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding needs of the wedding party.
