Job description
Tesla is seeking a Pure Water Engineer to support the Industrial Water Systems (RO, WWT, pure water, etc.) at our Gigafactory in Nevada.
What You’ll Do- Be able integrate and standardize best safety practices for all water purification and water treatment systems.
- Use your analytical skills to predict utility and chemical usage.
- Create, modify, and optimize standard operating procedures and site specifications.
- Complete monthly system operational cost analysis and drive improvement based on analysis.
- You will monitor current system demands and capacity concerns.
- B.S. in Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 2 years water purification operations experience, including Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.
- Advanced knowledge of water purification technologies and system operations.
- Operational experience in wastewater treatment, domestic water and demineralized water systems a plus.
- Prior experience in a high purity facility preferred (e.g. semiconductor).
- Flexible thinking – ability to provide unique solutions to everyday operational issues.
- Ability to work independently with little to no direction.
- Experience commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting water systems.
- Ability to perform system analysis- root cause analysis, failure mode analysis, capacity and demand management, troubleshooting, SPC.
- Understanding of water and waste water chemistry. Ability to use hydraulic analysis such as Pipe-flo and RO analysis tools such as ROSA is preferred.
- Understanding of system process automation and SCADA.
