Role description:

Arcadis seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Resilience Water team in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

The role sits within our Resilience Global Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Role accountabilities:

As a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer, you will lead projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/ wastewater treatment plants, stormwater systems, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations. You will also oversee the development of construction documents (e.g., technical specifications, drawings) and construction oversight/administration. You will be responsible for executing projects and managing project pursuits within the municipal water/wastewater market, as well as supporting client management/development objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. Additional responsibilities include:

• Leading and/or participating in client development activities, assessing client opportunities, assisting with positioning and capture strategies, proposal, and presentation efforts for water/wastewater design projects.
• Working with Area Leader(s) and client Principal(s)-in-Charge on the development of project scopes and fee estimates, setting the best stage for profitable delivery, managing risk, identifying project staff, and related activities.
• Managing a range of projects for various clients in the region. Responsibilities include managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, and leading project teams to meet the project deliverables.
• Overseeing the work of others and mentoring junior-level engineers & design/drafting technical staff.
• Ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
• Traveling (up to 25%) for client meetings, site visits, etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 15 years of consulting experience in the water and wastewater field
• Current PE License in New Jersey and/or in other nearby states, with interest in obtaining New Jersey PE

Preferred Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Strong team leadership experience or proven potential; including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring
• Broad spectrum of experience (inside-the-fence plant work, outside-the-fence, water distribution, wastewater collection, pumping)
• Experience with the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities; focused on expansion, rehabilitation, and retrofit

The salary range for this position is $101,978 - $187,460.
