As a Warehouse Shift Operations Manager, you will plan and coordinate a shift operation for a warehouse distribution facility, ensuring that quality, safety, and production requirements are met or exceeded.

Job Description

• Salary Range: $70,000.00- $80,000.00
• Sunday-Thursday 2pm-Midnight Flexibility as needed per business need.
• Suffield, CT

As Warehouse Operations Shift Manager, you are responsible for the operations of the grocery warehouses and warehouse maintenance and support facilities. You will be accountable for achieving overall operating results consistent with individual and company performance goals. You will direct ongoing communication and collaboration with customers of the grocery/perishable warehouses and ensure results meet or exceed customer expectations for product quality and service reliability, speed and accuracy.

This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance processes, record keeping, safety protocol, security services and inventory control to ensure distribution center work teams, service providers, equipment and physical assets are safe and secure. Additionally, you will oversee recruiting and training of team members and ensures team members are provided ongoing skills development and coaching to improve job performance and enable individuals to improve their advancement potential within the organization.

You will contribute by:

• Directly oversee daily shift operations to include selection, shipping, receiving, cross docking and trailer loading operations.
• Lead & manage a team of 20-40 hourly associates and Warehouse Supervisors in the efficient and safe operation of Warehouse activities.
• Take immediate action to resolve any problems that could impact daily labor standards & timely completion of shift requirements.
• Monitor labor standards daily and take appropriate action to ensure standards are achieved.
• Conduct performance management activities including, annual performance appraisals and design of training and career development plans.
• Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures.
• Participate in determining department operating budget.

We're searching for candidates with:

• Specialized Knowledge: Working knowledge of financial analysis and operational analysis.
• Special Skills: Managing process, people management, dealing with complexity, deadline oriented.
• Physical abilities: Safely and efficiently move products weighing up to 60lbs. Stand/walk for up to 10-12hrs.
• 2-5: General warehouse experience with minimum 2 years in a Supervisory role. Experience in retail operations, distribution, transportation, logistics and / or supply chain management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of Warehouse safety regulatory standards.
• Special Skills: Coaching skills for team development. Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills sufficient to communicate performance expectations and motivate and retain staff members.
• Physical abilities: Safely and efficiently move products weighing up to 60lbs. Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hrs.
• Basic proficiency with personal computer operations; Microsoft Office applications preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). : Bilingual a plus. Certifications Preferred in Food Safety, Fork Lift Operator, HACCP.
