The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible to oversee the warehouse operations, inventory management and handling of logistics arrangement for the facility.
Reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, this role will be on-site at Warrington, PA location.
Responsibilities:
- The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is a key site leader that is responsible for all site inventory including directing, coordinating, and tracking all material movements both in and out of the facility. This includes shipping and storing all finished goods, receiving, and storing all raw materials
- Responsible for all day-to-day site warehousing activity and long-term material storage strategy
- Oversee the Warehouse team on receiving, inspection, handling of defective goods, put to stock and issuance of raw materials to Production. Ensure EHS compliance in the Warehouse operation.
- Accountable for compliance against all dangerous goods shipping and import/export regulations
- The incumbent receives customer complaints related to the function and resolves them in conjunction with the quality department.
- Approves all schedules and reports that are initiated by his staff and maintains direct control of method and personnel changes within his department
- Plan and setup warehouse, ensure efficient space utilization and layout for material flow.
- Forecasts, schedules, and directs shipment of all materials
- Ensure high inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle count as per established schedules and guidelines. Reconcile, evaluate, and understand inventory variances and introduce improvements.
- A key function of the role is leading and organizing all semi-annual and annual inventories/stock takes.
- Utilize SAP, practice FIFO/FEFO and Kanban system to manage inventory, monitor obsolescence and drive for inventory reduction with Supply Chain Management team.
- Accountable for the in-bound logistics, arrange efficient and economical movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country, and international customs laws and processes.
- Provide shipping schedule to meet weekly, monthly, and yearly goals
- Research shipping methods to ensure compliance and cost reduction
- Responsible for supporting the on-time delivery of products to customers
- Troubleshoot all receiving and shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence
- Escalate to senior management all pertinent information impacting safety, quality, and productivity as well as employee issues and concerns.
- Practice and manage safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines, and EHS expectations
- Develop and monitor department and business unit KPIs
- Ensures processes and procedures needed for the QMS are established, implemented, and maintained.
- Evaluate processes and operations; identify opportunities for improvement and implement
- Coach, guide, and develop others; cross-training, teambuilding, and succession planning
- Hire and train departmental staffing
- Evaluate performance and provide feedback
- To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
Education & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Science preferred OR will consider equivalent years of applicable industry experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience supervisory with 10 years' experience in chemical processing, manufacturing practices and inventory control experience
- Prefer candidates with ISO 13485 industry experience but will also consider Chemical, Pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing industry experience
- Inventory Management experience a strong plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of application.
- Competency in SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP programs.
- Familiar with import and export custom processes
- Process effective communication, analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
- Organized, efficient, and able to work independently to manage priorities and workload
- Process oriented with the ability to identify risks and determine mitigation strategies, with a mindset of continual improvement
- Able to resolve complex issues in a creative, analytical manner
- Ability to coach and guide others to success is required
- Change management experience/knowledge a strong plus
- Supply Chain certification preferred
- IATA/IMDG Certification preferred
- DOT 49CFR Certification preferred
- Certification in both RCRA and DOT preferred
- Forklift operator certified
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for periods of time with frequent stooping or bending
