Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor, Health and Human Performance
The College of Idaho seeks to fill a one-year instructor or visiting assistant professor position in the
Department of Health and Human Performance to begin August 2023. We seek candidates who
share the College’s commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive academic community
through their teaching, mentoring, scholarly activity, and service.
The department seeks a specialist in human movement as it relates to biomechanics, kinesiology,
and/or motor learning and development. Candidates must have experience in, or the capacity to
teach biomechanics, with a preference for added experience in motor learning or development.
Additional teaching expectations could include: Strength and Conditioning, Sport Psychology, Motor
Learning, Care and Prevention of Injuries, Anatomy and Physiology, Health and Wellness, Coaching,
Applied Nutrition, Exercise Prescription, or Introduction to Exercise Science. The department
serves undergraduate Exercise Science Majors, Human Performance Minors, and Health Promotion
Minors. (Refer to the catalog for a description of the program).
Qualifications
A graduate degree in any field related to exercise science is required. ABD candidates will be
considered. Professional doctorates such as doctorates of physical therapy or athletic training are
welcome. Candidates with only a master’s degree should have college-level teaching experience.
Strength and conditioning certifications, personal training certifications, and/or coaching
experience are highly desirable, but not necessary.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as of the expected hire date and
throughout the date of the contract without sponsorship from the College.
