CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS


The Video and Photo Manager for the Performance Coatings Group (PCG) will be the lead execution for video ideation, filming and editing across seven industrial divisions with 40+ business segments and the PCG umbrella organization. The right candidate for this role must be a self-starter driven by strong creative vision and continuous process improvement that combines fast turnaround times with effective, impactful, brand-driven visual communications, and be comfortable working directly with senior leaders in the organizations of both The Sherwin-Williams Company and our industrial customers. Art direct and lead execution of photo shoots for PCG and its 7 divisions.


Overarching responsibilities:

  • Develop in-house resources to shoot and edit videos, including but not limited to: live recordings in studio, technical and how-to demonstrations, customer testimonials, thought leadership interviews, video for social media, marketing automation, and websites.

  • Manage video production for PCG and its divisions, oversee the management of the WTC Video Studio, guiding all stages of the creative process from concept to finished product.

  • Collaborate with PCG HR, R&D and international teams as needed, to shoot and edit live and pre-recorded video communication, plus video footage.

  • Lead execution of photo shoots for small to larger scale projects.


Video production responsibilities:

  • Serve as key contributor to Creative Services Team, working with Marketing Communications leads to understand their business needs, guiding the creative process to develop and execute agency-quality, targeted and cohesive products.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, taking business objectives through creative development to create effective and high-quality products.

  • Lead PCG Video team on photo and video shoots, planning, using and directing lighting, sound and camera operation. Must be comfortable in safe operation of equipment in industrial environments.

  • Plan and conduct on-camera interviews with executives, employees, and customers. Direct the editing of interview footage into compelling and strategic storytelling.

  • Impact larger and strategic marketing initiatives by collaborating with our external marketing agencies. Concept, plan and execute video projects, shooting photo and video as needed.

  • Research video industry and media communication trends, and utilize acute understanding of the different PCG business groups to act as a creative thought-leader, identifying new video project opportunities

  • Vet and establish network of freelancers and vendors to support PCG Video team as needed.


PCG Video & Photography Studio:

  • Oversee the management and operation of the WTC video studio. Personally attend and manage shoots as necessary.

  • Direct the aesthetic vision of webcasts, including series intro sequences, motion graphic treatments and production standards.

  • Continuously evaluate other forms of webcasting, including platforms used internally such as Teams and Teams Live, as well as other external platforms.

  • Create consistent production standards for in-house live video studio to allow turnkey use by production coordinator and marketing/sales teams.

  • Ensure creation of a user manual and detailed process for use of mobile studio, including lighting, camera angles, camera requirements for safe use near flammable materials. Personally attend and manage mobile shoots as production schedule allows.

  • Coordinate with video teams in other Sherwin-Williams’ businesses to share best practices, and leverage studio and editing resources globally.


Photography responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Creative Services Manager, marketing communications leads and other stakeholders to produce consistent, high-quality photos that support the Sherwin-Williams brand image for use in a variety of sales and marketing projects and initiatives and identify strategic photography opportunities.

  • Art-direct and shoot photos of products, facilities, and events, processing and retouching photos as needed

  • Capture complimentary photography during strategic video shoots for use in future projects


Additional responsibilities:

  • Support sales meeting in North America with video production and photography both prior to and during the conference.

  • Support Inbound Marketing Manager (Social Media), Marketing Automation Manager and Enterprise Webmaster with video and photo products. Coordinate with these roles to measure effectiveness of posted videos.

  • Develop employees through mentoring, continuing education and new creative opportunities

  • Research photo and video equipment and provide justification for needed purchases, including photo and video camera equipment, lighting, sound equipment and computer software

  • Support other internal SW video teams by assisting on shoots and webcasts when schedule allows.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


  • FORMAL EDUCATION:

    • Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree


  • KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Required:

  • 5-10 years video production experience, including camera operation, lighting, audio, and editing.

  • Experience in photography

  • Good verbal, writing and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of operating equipment in industrial environments.


  • Preferred:

    • Thriving in highly matrixed environment.

    • Self-starter with ability to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

    • Experience in a live studio environment

    • Management or mentoring experience

    • Strong creative vision


  • TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required:

  • Adobe Premiere and After Effects

  • Video camera, lighting, and audio mixing equipment

  • Photography camera, lighting


  • Preferred:

  • Podcasting or other rapid-turn live production
