Veterinary Technician - Anesthesia Nurse

Metropolitan Veterinary Associates is a state of the art, 25,000 square foot hospital. We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a veterinary nurse ( vet tech ) to join our Anesthesia Department with three years’ experience in veterinary anesthesia. Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

Daily responsibilities and job requirements:

· Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)

· Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes

· Position and capture of radiographs

· Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)

· Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients

· Work with board certified Anesthesiologists

· Attention to detail and a calm demeanor required

· Ability to work in a fast paced, environment

· Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
