About us

SAFE has been spaying and neutering in Middle Georgia since 2013 and has performed over 50,000 surgeries. We are professional, fast-paced, and work as a team while providing excellent care to our patients before, during, and after surgery. We perform 25-30 spay/neuter surgeries per day. This is an interactive process from check-in to check-out. We work Mon-Thurs starting at 8:00 AM and finishing before 4:00 PM on most days. The position entails proper nursing care including IM/SQ/IV injections, blood draws, testing, preparing medications, handling, lifting, carrying, and caring for dogs and cats. You must possess excellent communication skills with proper use of grammar. Salary is dependent upon experience. PLEASE - NO PHONE CALLS

Position: We are seeking a surgical tech/nurse who will ultimately be responsible for surgical prep, anesthesia and monitoring, instrument cleaning, sterilization, as well as ensuring our veterinarian has everything to work smoothly and efficiently. We are willing to train the right person. No criminal background.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM until finished. Typically finished by 4:00 PM. We are closed on Fridays, most Holidays, Weekends, Nights. We do not keep animals overnight.

Locations: Our stationary clinic is located in Macon on Riverside Dr. The mobile unit typically runs 2 days per week by alternating locations: WR/Byron every other week. Forsyth and Milledgeville once a month. Roberta every 3-4 months.

Pay: Biweekly through direct deposit. Salary is dependent upon your experience.

We perform 25-30 surgeries per day. Every animal receives an exam by the veterinarian and then begins the process of moving through pre-medication, induction of anesthesia, surgery, post-op, and recovery. Each member of our team has specific duties to ensure the proper care and transfer through each stage.

The more experience you have, the faster you will move up to surgery. Our goal is to have you trained in surgery working directly with the veterinarian; however, that depends on you, your level of confidence, work ethic, and initiative.
