Job description

We are hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our team who is passionate about animal welfare. This is a very rewarding position where we frequently allow the assistant to directly interact with pets and owners during veterinary visits. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in the veterinary field and a passion for working with animals and strongly empathizing with pet owners when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with clients and other veterinary staff informatively.
• Handle animals with care.
• Accurately record animal health histories and diagnostic procedures.
• Clean, feed, and care for animals properly.
• Accurately weigh and measure animals prior to treatment and record information correctly.
• Help ensure the hospital stays clean and stocked.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facility

Physical Requirements:
-Able to lift 50lbs.
-Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:
-May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, animal urine and feces, and possible bites, scratches and contagious diseases.

Experience:
-At least one year of working with animals outside of a home environment.
-Veterinary field related fields preferred.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
