The Adirondack North Country Sports Council is the organizing committee for the upcoming FISU World University Winter Games in beautiful Lake Placid during January 2023! We also organize various multi-sport events in the local area. It is an exciting time to join our TEAM!
Position Engagement Period: ASAP to 1/31/23
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Assist the Head of Food in Beverage & ORDA Head of Food and Beverage in all administrative and operational activities.
Assist with planning, delivery and management of the Food and Beverage functional area (FA), including determining meals, concessions, catering and beverage requirements for Delegations, Spectators, FISU Family, Technical Officials, Media and Workforce (i.e. lounges, concession stands, on-venue meals) at all competition and non-competition venues, in particular:
- Assist with Planning Delegation space and resource requirements for Delegation Accommodations, as well as all competition venues and other non-competition venues (e.g. Main Press Center, FISU Family Hotel)
- Assist with planning and ensuring delivery of on-venue meals for Delegations, Technical Officials and Workforce
- Work closely with public health authorities to ensure food safety/hygiene protocols are maintained
- Work with all our contracted Food Service Operators to secure copies of NYS DOH permits and licenses
- Certify that all culinary staff have completed NYS mandated Serve Safe training.
- Collect and organize Banquet Event Orders for “special events”
- Maintain and update all FNB run-sheets for distribution to all Functional Area’s
- Communicate daily with On Venue Event Managers and Food service providers on the stocking of Client lounges and possible substitutions of menu items
- Coordinate with Athlete Village Dining halls to ensure documentation of all guaranteed minimum are met
- Coordinate and communicate the purchasing of vouchers for dining halls between Hospitality Desks at Athlete Villages and Food Service Operators at each Athlete village dining hall.
- Maintain the ITO & NTO voucher meal program; including maintain communication between participating restaurants; collecting meal vouchers from participating restaurants; submit voucher to finance office for reimbursement
- Receive and process all invoices for payment and accurately record account codes to ensure that budgetary guidelines are met.
- Due to the nature of the Lake Placid 2023 World University Games, you may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the needs of the game operations and its venues, including weekends and holidays.
Required Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of food and beverage/ hospitality industry
- Proven administrative, project management and budgeting experience
- Experience working directly with service providers/suppliers, existing venue owners and public authorities.
- Must have strong organizational skills
- High degree of integrity, diplomatic, fair
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Patient, persistent, with ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Willing and able to adapt to change quickly and work under pressure
Preferred Experience:
Multi-sport event experience or other large event experience.
Education:
Associates or bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality preferred. Minimum High School Diploma.
