Position Description

ArborPro, Inc is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Urban Forestry Plan Writer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to work with our clients to develop comprehensive urban forestry plans that utilize our software and services.

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with clients including municipalities, parks departments, and other organizations, to develop comprehensive urban forestry plans that align with their goals and objectives.

· Conduct thorough research and analysis of existing urban forestry practices and policies, including tree inventories and management plans, to inform the development of new plans.

· Develop and document best practices for urban forestry management, such as tree planting, pruning, removal, and pest management.

· Work closely with our software development and data analysis teams to incorporate our software and data into urban forest master plans and develop custom solutions to meet client needs.

· Produce clear, concise, and compelling urban forestry master plans that effectively communicate key findings, recommendations, and implementation strategies.

· Facilitate meetings and workshops with clients and stakeholders to gather input and feedback and present findings and recommendations.

· Provide expert guidance to clients on all matters related to urban forestry management, including regulatory compliance, risk management and budgeting.

· Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to urban forestry management.

· Conduct site visits to assess tree health and condition, evaluate urban tree canopy cover, identify species diversity, and analyze tree growth patterns to develop comprehensive urban forestry plans.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in urban forestry, arboriculture, landscape architecture, or related field.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in urban forestry management and planning, including experience developing and implementing urban forestry master plans.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling reports and presentations.

· Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and information into actionable insights and recommendations.

· Experience working with GIS software, tree inventory software and other data analysis tools.

· Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

· Experience facilitating meetings and workshops with diverse groups of stakeholders.

· Knowledge of urban forestry management best practices, including tree planting, pruning, removal, and pest management.

· Certified Arborist or other relevant certifications are a plus.
