This individual will be able to masterfully teach all levels of high school Ceramics. Must have a deep knowledge of Ceramics and the art behind using the tools to master Ceramics.


Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Ability to teach a number of arts classes including Visual Arts, Sculpture, Ceramics, AP 3D, and others as needed, lead an advisory group, and participate in aspects of student life at Bentley like advising clubs, coaching, or working with student organizations.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and are in accordance with school standards.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
  • Desire and capacity to teach.
  • Commitment to guiding the development of students’ visual communication, artistic expression, critical thought, contextual realization, self-reflection, and time management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with students in large and small group settings using multiple teaching methods to reach a broad range of students.
  • Research and enter local art competitions, display student work around the campus, and support students’ engagement in artistic opportunities outside of the classroom.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Extensive knowledge and practice in art and art education
  • Demonstrated understanding of and passion for youth education and adolescent development
  • Experience in an interdisciplinary environment with an emphasis on group collaboration and use of technology
  • Experience in subject area, culturally responsive teaching, and social-emotional learning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with high school and/or college age students in an academic setting
  • Experience in course design, planning, and implementation
  • The willingness to approach learning new skills in flexible and creative ways

Pay Range:


Bentley uses a competitive salary scale, which takes into account experience, education, and skill level. The salary for this position ranges from $69,525 - $139,050.
