Description
The Truck Driver is the face of BFG. This person is one of the few face-to-face contacts a customer has with BFG. With this in mind, it is the responsibility of the Truck Driver to safely deliver product to customers while being able to be at home each night. In addition, the truck driver may haul transfers between branches. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, 401(k), 401(k) matching, PTO, and an annual driver bonus. Position is located in Grand Rapids, MI.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide the best customer service possible.
- Deliver product to customer.
- Work with other Branch team members to establish daily delivery route.
- Ensure shipment is accurate.
- Ensure appropriate shipping paperwork (pick-tickets/RMAs) is completed and meets DOT requirements.
- Ensure customers sign pick tickets/RMAs.
- Maintain truck logs.
- Run transfers between branches.
- Perform pre-trip inspection before leaving for daily run.
- Complete other assignments as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Education, Credentials and Experience:
- CDL – Class A with Hazmat endorsement;
- Possess OSHA certified forklift training.
- Pass physical ever two years as well as participate in random drug and alcohol screening program per Federal Regulations.
- Possess and maintain clean driving record
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen and continue to pass physical as prescribed by DOT.
- Must be 21 years old.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Strong customer service skills.
