Traffic Control Laborer
Job description
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Traffic Control Laborer with heavy highway experience. A Traffic Control Laborer will perform traffic control duties in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures of the department for which they work.
Objectives:

Responsibilities:

- Performs traffic control and/or flagging services as needed.
- Follows safety rules and regulations on and in all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signage, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices.
- When legally allowed to drive, operates company vehicles while also operating miscellaneous hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Conducts routine equipment maintenance and daily equipment inspections according to company standards.
- Routinely conducts facility and vehicle housekeeping/maintenance.
- Prepares trip sheets and maintains accurate records.
- Able to listen and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
- Performs tasks in the interest of public safety and property and the motoring public.
- Responds to emergencies as directed by supervisors.
- Easy to contact.
- Follows up.
- Responsible/competent.
- Immediately notifies department supervisors of any emergency, vehicle accidents, worksite accidents, and/or other serious reported incidents.
- Always follows Company policies and procedures.
- Attends all Company and departmental meetings, when required.
- May occasionally assist with delivery of materials to worksites or client locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Traffic control experience preferred.
- Knowledge in traffic control and/or highway construction a plus.
- Knowledge of functions and operations of the company.
- Able to be or quickly become proficient with tablets.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Must be able to obtain and keep a For-Hire license to operate company vehicles.
- Must pass and maintain a clean drug screen and Department of Transportation physical.
- Must be or become an active Union member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America(LIUNA).

Pay: $21.94 - $29.25 per hour
