POSITION TITLE:

Learning Center Coordinator

DEPARTMENT :

POSITION SUMMARY:

The prime responsibility for this position includes, but is not limited to, the management and supervision of the learning center. This includes recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and coordinating of professional tutors and testers in all disciplines. The LCC will have the responsibility of being the liaison between students, faculty, administration, advisors, tutors and testers to ensure successful student outcomes. This person will also oversee that the center is in compliance with the Bryant & Stratton College policies and procedures. The coordinator will be expected to teach courses per term.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS

1. Provide general tutoring support to students on a daily basis.

2. Work with faculty to develop individualized tutoring plans.

3. Identify and develop skill development resources (i.e., printed, online, etc.) for both prospective and enrolled students.

4. Recruit, schedule, train, and evaluate part-time tutoring staff.

5. Coordinate structured study groups.

6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tutors and other resources/activities.

7. Provide support to faculty and administration in developing classroom and Skills Assistance strategies that address learning disabilities and other special needs.

8. Teach courses based on qualifications and market needs.

9. Proctor all required Academic and Admissions testing in accordance with college, State and Federal regulations.

This position will also oversee and execute all campus Title IX processes, adhere to all training and reporting guidelines.

PREFERRED/SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

§ Bachelor’s degree in Educational or Student Services

§ Masters in Education preferred, or related area


Experience

§ Demonstrated expertise in developing curricula and instructional strategies that meet the needs of special-need and academically under-prepared students

§ 2 years teaching and/or tutoring experience, preferably with a diverse student population


Other

§ Exceptional coaching and interpersonal skills

§ Ability to collaborate with faculty in identifying learning needs and developing and implementing creative solutions

§ Available to work day and evening hours

§ Available to work campus events both day and evening hours
