Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey , is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies. The Temporary Research Assistant will be responsible for collecting data for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the research will focus on understanding the impact of increasing legal age to buy tobacco and the extent to which this will be effective.

- Travel to designated tobacco retail establishments around NJ.
- Perform data collection on a variety of relevant measures.
- Review and edit data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience
- High School Diploma is required.
Certifications/Licenses
- Driver’s License is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment; have a high degree of emotional intelligence; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques is preferred.
- Experience with primary data collection preferred but not required.
- Experience with tobacco control and training in research methods strongly preferred but not required.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
