Temporary Guest Services Associate

Job Title: Temporary Guest Services Associate

Position: The primary responsibilities of the Guest Services Associate are in the retail and outdoor amusement areas. This position must be willing to work inside the gift shop and outside in attractions. The job entails day to day amusement and retail operations and the ability to engage with guests in a busy environment, providing all guests with a positive experience. Excellent customer service skills are a priority. This position begins 2/23/2023 and will last through approximately 9/1/2023. Scheduling for this position is flexible with school schedules.

Key Responsibilities of the Guest Services Associate:

The Guest Services Associate is required to:

· Maintain good standing, attitude, work ethic, etc., providing exceptional customer service to guests, and striving to maintain harmonious relations among staff

· Provide accurate general information to guest and ensure good guest experiences

· Keep work areas neat

· Clean and stock in the gift shop

· Clean equipment, rides, booths, and grounds- including restrooms

· Operate POS system

· Operate attractions (soaring eagle zip line, safari cars, train, carousel)

· Inform riders of rules, safety regulations, or prohibited items on rides

· Ensure all riders of an attraction are safe and complying to park rules

· Following SOPs and complete checklists

· Use radios for communication and follow the proper chain of command

· Other duties as needed, and cooperation with departments outside of amusements (administration, maintenance, guest services, etc.)

Experience:

· Candidates with experience in retail/ guest services will be given preference

· Candidates with ride operator experience will be given preference

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Software Requirements:

· Must have basic computer knowledge

· Must be able to utilize Point of Sale software system and communicate errors to management.

Machinery/Tools/Equipment Requirements:

· Must have the ability to use mobile devices, computer, fax, scanner, phone and copy machine

· Assume ownership of potential safety hazards (wipe-up spill, pick up trash).

Teamwork

· Maintain positive attitude, pleasant tone of voice (remember it is not what you say, but how you say it).

· Work well in stressful, high pressure situations

· Utilize the power of teamwork to give excellent service and guest experience.

· Know when to involve management

Physical Requirements:

· Sitting or standing, bending, stooping, and per OSHA regulations: Heavy work involving lifting no more than 25 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or varying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Constant adequate range of motion and mobility required.

Environmental/Working Conditions:

· Long hours are sometimes required including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Required to work outdoors in extreme temperatures

· Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner required.

· Ensure that storage and guest areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe fashion

· Candidate must be able to work effectively unsupervised and approach all encounters with employees and guests in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Gulf Shores, AL 36542: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
