Position: Technical Sales Manager
Location: USA | New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for maintaining and increasing sales of existing and newly developed products and requires active interaction with prospects, customers, distributors and end users. This individual uses technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales. The incumbent is accountable for generating new business and ensuring the growth of existing accounts. The individual will review and assess the prospect’s application and sell features and benefits that provide solutions to a customer’s problem. The incumbent must develop and present the cost benefits and communicate customer feedback into the organization to support future product developments initiatives.
  • Develop and implement sales forecasts, strategic account plans, and manage a business development pipeline to meet the objectives.
  • Responsible for achieving sales in accordance with divisional revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Maintain and utilize proper sales CRM techniques, including, but not limited to the thorough, timely and accurate use of ACT or other appropriate tools.
  • Provide sales input into pricing strategies and provide quotations for all sales inquiries and programs.
  • Interface with operational areas to ensure appropriate scheduling and support of critical projects and customers.
  • Conduct sales reviews as necessary and provide timely updates on sales activities tied to departmental objectives.
  • Evaluate feasibility and potential profitability of new applications in conjunction with production, technical, sales and management personnel.
  • Maintain an awareness of existing and developing market needs to assist in management in the preparation of business forecasts.
  • Provide a proactive response to existing customer base and new customer initiatives.
  • Support direct marketing and internet marketing initiatives.
  • Support new product concepts by helping define prototype samples from existing production process steps under the guidance of the technical director.
  • Interacts with General Manager, Production Manager, Business Development and Technical Director to understand business goals and objectives.
  • Directs and coordinates customer initiatives with technical and production personnel to support development of new products and market segments.
  • Collaborates with all Pyrogenic disciplines whose advice counsel services can be enlisted for the purpose of achieving specific sales objectives.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have a well developed business understanding, strong customer orientation and demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities and grow business.

Candidate must be a self starter, detail oriented with excellent communication and possess strong and effective negotiating skills. The individual must be professional, well organized, team player, able to work with minimal direction and have proven record of technical sales experience with success in selling to one or more of the target market segments. .

A Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline or related field with a minimum of five years relevant industrial experience in technical sales role (especially in the area of material and coatings for application in the aerospace and electronics industry). Must possess ability to establish effective, ongoing working relationships with customers and suppliers

Domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice, will be necessary.
