Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Tax Manager, an experienced CPA with expertise in individual and business taxation as well as extensive client management experience. The scope of responsibilities aligns with advancement readiness, which makes this job best suited for those who have the partner track in mind. Our firm offers some scheduling flexibility and remote work options, with at least part-time hours on-site in Bellevue preferred for this leadership position.

The Tax Manager has the following responsibilities:

• Reviewing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S and 1120 returns, and providing feedback to preparers
• Preparing advanced level tax returns
• Leading staff training sessions in a group setting
• Managing a client base as assigned, including data intake, project oversight, work delegation, billing, and other related tasks
• Planning and managing large engagements
• Conducting and presenting tax research for the firm
• Assisting management with staff performance analytics and appraisals
• Participating in business development, community outreach, recruiting, and networking events and activities as the firm’s representative

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications and attributes:

• Holds a current Certified Public Accountant license
• 8+ years of recent experience in public accounting with a focus on tax
• Is proficient in preparing and reviewing complex returns (1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120), plus providing tax estimates, consulting, and planning for those clients
• Articulates a history of client management success, including a high comfort level of communicating with clients in a competent, concise, timely, and personalized manner
• Is proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
• Commits to working full-time with required overtime during busy seasons
• Exhibits meticulous attention to details and a strong bias for follow-through
• Demonstrates confidence and familiarity in delegating to and following up with a team of staff and senior accountants
• Is skilled and enthusiastic in coaching staff on essential software and more advanced tax concepts

Capabilities and experience in the following areas are a plus:

• CCH Axcess and/or CCH ProFx Engagement (2+ years of full-time use)
• Estate and trust tax return preparation and consulting
• Preparation and review of financial statements (GAAP a plus)
• Review of State and Local tax returns
• International taxation matters

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
