System Administrator

Office: Airport Way Lab

Overview:
The System Administrator monitors and manages enterprise systems stability, availability, and performance (eg, systems, network, databases, storage, and security). This involves providing first and second level support for enterprise systems by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents to minimize nonroutine system downtime. Maintains and optimizes systems and migrates data and systems as needed. Ensures integrity and completeness of data and workflow, manages data practices, databases and information systems as well as guidelines, dictionaries, registries and/or services. Work may involve central or departmental computer systems and networks, including web systems and database administration. Responsible for system configuration build, testing, validation, and ongoing production support of assigned applications directed by a senior team member and/or vendor. Performs analysis of application capabilities, workflows, data collection, report details, and other clinical and/or technical issues associated with software. This position is also responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with other applications.

This is a hybrid position that is a blend of working both remotely and in office. Must reside in the Northwest Service Region (Oregon or Washington).

Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date knowledge in subject area to meet deadlines; following procedures and policies, and applying data and resources to support projects or initiatives; collaborating with others, often cross-functionally, to solve business problems; supporting the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicating progress and information; identifying and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities when possible; and escalating issues or risks as appropriate.

Escalates identified issues, risks or problems to lead administrators per processes.
Meets timelines to drive the delivery of appropriate, sustainable, and prompt solutions.
Monitors stability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems (eg, systems, applications, network, databases, storage, security) by analyzing systems to identify issues and problems.
Supports technical and project team members to help resolve application-specific issues.
Assists in communications with product users and suppliers to share information, identify opportunities, resolve problems, prioritize customer requirements, and maintain continuous improvement through customer feedback.
Adheres to change management processes.
Supports application-oriented administration and technical support for production and non-production environments.
Assists with data extraction from various databases for report generation.
Assists in the implementation of hardware and software changes into environments.
Supports the maintenance, modification, and documentation of applications.
Assists in the installation, upgrade, or decommissioning of designated systems, products, and infrastructure.
Performs maintenance and refresh activities.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care or related field

OR

Two (2) years working in IT or operations. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Minimum Work Experience

One (1) year experience in the administration and custom configuration of large of-the-shelf applications or software packages.
Two (2) years system administration or applicable experience.
One (1) year experience working in a large matrixed organization.
Two (2) years’ experience writing documentation or standard operating procedures related to system administration.
