Job Title: System Application Administrator

Job Type: Contract-to-hire

Client Location: Denton, TX- Hybrid office schedule- Remote/onsite blend- 3 days onsite, 2 days remote have been approved by the City Manager. There will be potentially more remote flex in the future. Candidates must be local to the DFW area.

NOTE: Offer contingent upon applicant meeting satisfactory outcome of Texas CJIS background check and drug clearance*.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated System Application Administrator to manage and maintain applications that support SCADA environments, including testing, scheduling, deployment, patching and upgrades. Job Functions:

· Reviews business process needs and application functionality to identify features that could improve user experience or process efficiencies.

· Works with businesses to identify reporting requirements and applicable metrics. Provides vendor management and support escalations to problem resolution.

· Assumes the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a set of 3rd party applications supporting the entire lifecycle of the SCADA environments.

· Maintains applications based on vendor direction and business needs (patching, major upgrades including staging, pre-testing, and deployment)

· Works as a liaison to 3rd party application vendors support teams for issue recreation, management, escalation, and drive to resolution.

· Participates in the evaluation and selection process for application packages

· Tracks and manages reviewing end-user requirements, security, performance, and interoperability requirements

Core Competencies:

· Strong technical aptitude for learning new applications functionality, configuration, and maintenance processes

· Ability to understand technical architectures and infrastructure at a high level

· Detailed understanding of performance analysis for proactive monitoring of application infrastructure and application health.

· Ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audience, using effective verbal and written communication.

· Ability to convert business/user needs into detailed requirements

· Knowledge of workflow development for business processes.

Minimum Qualifications/Acceptable Equivalency:

Education-

· High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with seven years of experience in a computer science, business administration, or information technology environments

OR

· Technical Accreditation and six years’ experience in a computer science, business administration, or technology environments

OR

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or management information systems and six years equivalent experience in computer science, business administration, or management information systems environment

Required Experience-

• Backend support; application, server, and basic network troubleshooting experience
• Patching and upgrade and deployment support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Web Services
• Proficiency in MS SQL SERVER, Microsoft Windows Active Directory, and Visual Basic
• Proficiency in SharePoint, Backend Services, and Web server
• PowerShell, Java, Python or other tools for administration and automation
• Application Testing experience
• Experience of Application Lifecycle Management

*Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check

Preferred Experience:

• VMware ESXi
• Municipal government experience
• SCADA previous environment experience and knowledge a plus with any of the following or similar applications: (OSI Monarch, OSI Chornus, Wartsila WOIS, GE IFix, Aveva Wonderware, Hach WIMS, InforEAM)

Pay: $85,000.00 - $101,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
