Michael’s House is currently seeking a dynamic leader as a Supervisor, Residential Counselors (Evening Shift) responsible for supervising staff, developing staff schedules, maintaining a safe milieu and providing patient-centered care for patients in a residential treatment setting that specializes in treating patients with co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supervision of RC staff
- Responsibilities include: staff meetings, supervision, annual evaluations, disciplinary actions, timecards, staff schedules, milieu operations, training, quality improvements and other duties as needed.
- Ensures the safety, quality and consistency of the program schedule
- Conducts chart audits and documentation reviews, including incident reporting.
- Responsible for appropriately monitoring/or charting significant events that occur regarding patient treatment during assigned shift.
- Conducts psycho-educational groups.
- Participates in milieu related meetings (i.e., level change, house meetings, etc.).
- Performs case management duties as directed.
- Answers all calls and directs accordingly to HIPPA standards.
- Responsible for appropriately charting significant events that occur regarding patient treatment during assigned shift.
- Ensures that all doors are locked and secure throughout the assigned shift.
- Responsible for assigning transportation services as needed and/or directed.
- Responsible for conducting room searches and urine analysis as necessary.
- Escalates issues and/or concerns regarding residents to RC Supervisor.
- Monitors patient computer and telephone usage.
- Meets timeliness expectations of completing work as scheduled, demonstrating self-paced performance and adjusting priorities as needed
- Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to evaluate crisis situations and implement safety guidelines
- Proficiency in the SOC, the RC guidelines, and ability to train staff.
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
- Ability to inspire patient confidence in the MH Staff and the MH System of Care (SOC).
- Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FMH SO
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
- Must have general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Word, Excel).
- Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization. Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with clients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
- Must possess a current, valid California driver’s license
- Must possess current CPR/First Aid certification.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in co-occurring disorders
- Licensed or certified as a chemical dependency counselor
- Excellent Microsoft/Excel proficiency
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Sits, stands, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Position requires some work on the computer requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
