Job description
Purpose
The Supervisor of Logistics is responsible for managing activities that provide goods and services to Avangrid Networks Gas personnel. Planning, implementing and controlling the efficient, cost effective
flow and storage of materials, in-process inventory and finished goods to reduce the total life cycle costs. This position reports to the Manager of Logistics and Meter Services and will have cross opco responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensures Avangrid is not adversely exposed to risk or litigation regarding delivery and inventory transactions. Ensures supplier agreements and deliveries support Avangird goals and adhere to Avangrids’s Code of Conduct. 10%
- Provides value-added information regarding market developments and supplier delivery capabilities, so that Logistics is a highly regarded business partner. 15%
- Ensures team training in the skills necessary to develop and function as a self-directed work team and provide the highest level of service to the Divisions. 10%
- Ensures a safe, clean workplace exists and that employees are knowledgeable of and follow safe work practices. Reviews scheduled work orders to identify required material, equipment, tool and logistics team resources and establishes production/delivery/pre-assembly/tool repair schedules to support work completion. 15%
- Provides direction, supervision, instruction and feedback to work teams. 20%
- Skillfully balances workloads and manages peak/emergency demands by leveraging Logistics competencies. 30%
Skills and Requirements
Associate's degree in Business Management or related field. Inventory
Control System Certification preferred.
20-30% travel between sites (SCG, CNG, BGC) will be required.
