Location
: A2 Second Shift
Schedule: Evening Shift (6x10 schedule ranging from Sunday night to Friday night with alternating days off)
Core Working Hours: 6:00pm – 3:00am + OT as called on their specific shift
Weekly Overtime: 1-2 hours per day (average is 5 – 10 hours per week)
Weekend Work: Minimal to none for evening shift
Travel: None
Cell Phone Required: Yes
Special PPE Required: Steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and hard hat
Assignment Start: ASAP
Assignment End: October 29, 2023

Relocation expenses may be offered for highly qualified candidates, but that rate must be referenced in the attached bid form. Preference will be given to local candidates

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision this position will be located at the supplier facility to monitor quality performance on a shift-by-shift basis. This position will be responsible for creating KPI reports and monitoring supplier KPI performance for outgoing part quality, as well as providing feedback and regular quality performance updates to the Task Force Team.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Monitor supplier process output regarding parts quality and provide feedback to the task force team
  • Track trend data at the supplier in conjunction with their Quality Engineers, PQE's and MP engineers
  • Monitor supplier corrective actions and clean points across shifts
  • Support shop floor problem solving and investigations
  • Use of power, hand, painting tools, and/or fixtures/test benches for investigation or repair
  • Perform repairs on assembly / paint / body / chassis components
  • Participates in group meetings and communicates issues
  • Verifies own/others work
  • Enter and retrieve production information from production systems
  • Ability to operate fork trucks / tuggers
  • Supports CI & safety programs
  • Ability to create summary reports
  • Excellent communication skills in a management setting using both verbal and electronic media
  • Working knowledge of vehicle components, processes, mechanical and electrical technologies
  • Must be able to support up to 2 shifts per workday
  • Must be able to support Saturday and Sunday work (ca. 10% overtime)

Professional Experience

Co-Op/ internship and/ or up to 3 years' professional experience in the following area(s):

Manufacturing experience, Quality experience, Supplier Quality experience

Required Skills
(These skills are essential to perform the job)

  • Blueprint/2D drawing reading and comprehension required. (1-2 years)
  • Measurement equipment experience required to include hand tools (calipers, micrometers, pin gages, etc) as well as other gages and fixtures. (1-2 years)
  • Microsoft office suite (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc) experience required to at least beginner level. (1-2 years)
  • Problem Solving methods using Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Whys, 8D's, etc. (2-3 years)
  • Evaluate color match and gloss level of individual parts when compared to a standard. (1-2 years)
  • (Must be able to successfully complete a Color Evaluation assessment)

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of Industrial Engineering methods and procedures.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in project management
  • Out-of-the box thinking

Minimum Level of Education
(Note: Engineering and/or IT MUST require technical degrees)

This position requires a GED or High School Diploma.
