Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Radiology - NYS X-Ray license & ARRT required.

In this role, the successful candidate will provide support to the Radiology department under the direction of the Assistant Director - Radiology. Assume leadership responsibility for the management and support of all of the Imaging areas within the Radiology department. Act as an active member of the Radiology Management Team. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations of the Radiology Department including ensuring sufficient staffing resources are available in all areas, monitoring workflow productivity and efficiency. Act as a department liaison with all inpatient units and the Emergency Department

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the Radiology department is in compliance with all standards required by the FDA, DOH, MQSA, Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Manages the staffing and vacation schedules for the imaging areas for weekend hours of operation, in collaboration with the Technical Managers and Operations Manager
  • Oversight of the day to day operations of the Radiology Imaging areas.
  • Strict monitoring and control of the use of overtime to cover staffing vacancies in order to stay within the operational budget.
  • Ensures weekend operations are in compliance with departmental polices, procedures and protocols
  • Performs diagnostic Radiographic Imaging exams as needed
  • Takes quality x-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered by the physician, following established procedures and guidelines as needed
  • Takes initiative and is proactive in resolving issues that are encountered in the Department. Has extensive knowledge of PACS, CR Readers and their operation.
  • Monitors the Radiology work lists and ensure that all studies are performed in a timely manner according to department standards and goals.
  • Responsible for proactively removing any barriers that are preventing exams from being performed in a timely manner.
  • Takes a lead role in ensuring that all technical quality assurance activities are being performed according to department policies and regulatory agency standards including the FDA, DOH, Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Monitors imaging quality control on a daily basis and provide technical guidance and interventions as needed to maintain appropriate imaging quality standards.
  • Assists in trouble shooting issues associated with the Radiology Information System, PACS, Radiology orders, reports and imaging studies not crossing into the various information systems.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or Equivalency required. AS preferred. A willingness to devote the time required completing assigned tasks on schedule. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficient in Word, and Outlook. New York State X-ray License required. ARRT Certification.

Required Licenses: NYS Diagnostic Radiology lic

Preferred Qualifications:
BS degree preferred. At least (5) years experience in a Radiology department or imaging facility preferred. At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a Radiology department or imaging facility preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500 - $95,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
