Connected Communities was started in 2017 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a vision to close gaps in the community-based service and mental health fields. The organization took on its first community-based service client in 2018 and has been growing ever since. Our organization currently serves 12 different localities in Virginia. Our organization also serves more than 14 counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia for IACCT assessments through Magellan. We run six major programs - Mentoring, Parent Mentoring, Residential Deviation, IIH, Casey LIfe Skills and Outpatient Therapy - to help accommodate the needs of the community.
Connected Communities Inc. is seeking a full time Licensed Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker with supervising eligibility in the Winchester, VA area to provide supervision to outpatient counselors seeking clinical licensure and to provide outpatient counseling to children, adolescents, and adults with identified mental health diagnoses. Connected Communities has a unique approach to both counseling and therapy in the community. The supervision clinician must be able to provide supervision, training, and guidance to our clinicians with the agency's mission in mind. Candidates will possess strong written and verbal skills and clinical knowledge regarding diagnoses and effective, evidenced-based treatment. Candidates will demonstrate an ability to work effectively with community providers and uphold high standards of best practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets every week with workers to provide clinical guidance, assess dynamics and needs of each case, determine the appropriateness of therapeutic strategies and assess progress of service delivery and planning
- Provides licensure supervision and ongoing supervision
- Provides training as warranted
- Reviews service recipient files to ensure proper and complete documentation of action and services and compliance with all applicable licenses, policies and regulations
- Reviews all clinical notes weekly
- Reviews all reports to ensure compliance with all applicable timelines, policies and regulations
- Conducts clinical assessments
- Evaluates worker performance and takes appropriate employee disciplinary actions
- Maintains excellent customer service
- Assists Director and Clinical Director with identification and resolution of problems or gaps in service delivery
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education and Experience:
- A master’s degree in social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university;
- A current LPC or LCSW in Virginia with the ability to provide licensure supervision in the state of Virginia;
- A minimum of three years of experience providing mental health treatment to troubled children and families;
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of youth and family counseling;
- Though knowledge of principles and techniques of basic interviewing and assessment skills;
- Working knowledge of human services system and relevant community resources;
- Ability to conduct and facility meetings;
- Ability to form effective supervisory relationships with subordinate staff;
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchases and service recipients;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; fluency in both written and spoken Spanish a plus.
