Position Summary Information

Basic Function
This position will be assisting with structure, planning, and organization of the Level Up Summer Bridge Program under Title III. The program consists of two five week cycles; one serving rising sophomores and the other serving incoming first year students. The incumbent will serve as the day to day manager of the program while it is in session (May- August 2023) leading program staff and overseeing academic and cocurricular functioning.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Title III Director with design, implementation, and coordination of two Summer Bridge Programs (SB1 & SB2)
  • Recruit faculty and staff to define Summer Bridge Program academic program, course offerings, workshops, seminars, and co-curricular programming etc
  • Collaborate appropriately with campus offices for effective program coordination
  • Work with Title III Committee and other campus stakeholders to identify and invite student participants for Summer Bridge I program.
  • Work with Title III Steering Committee and other campus stakeholders to identify and invite student participants for Summer Bridge II program.
  • Collaborate with the Library and Learning Technologies professionals in the implementation and use of Financial Literacy 101, RealWorld Playbook, Portfolium, and ePortfolio badging & Life Skills Credentialing
  • Assist Title III Steering Committee, Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, and additional stakeholders in creation of program assessment tools
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of peer mentors
  • Teaches Reflection Seminar for SB1 & SB2
  • Ensures alignment with research in best practices in Summer Bridge Program design
  • Ensures alignment of program development and design with institution’s retention efforts and needs
  • Ensures alignment with current student demographics and other institutional data in Summer Bridge Program design
  • Service and participation on all relevant Summer Bridge Planning Committees
  • Delivers regular reporting to program committees, leadership & stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education or related field; One to three years of experience with academic program design in higher education; One to three years of experience with higher education advising; Exemplary interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to work independently; Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and work as a member of a team; Excellent time management skills with the ability to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks; At least one year of supervisory experience; In depth cultural knowledge of Piedmont Triad and Guilford community a plus
