DRMP's Surveying & Mapping/Geospatial Division is HIRING! We're looking for experienced Utility Locators (Subsurface Utility Engineering - SUE) to join our Charlotte Office.

Requirements for Position
The Primary Responsibilities of the Subsurface Utilities Engineering Technician (SUE Technician) include the following:
- Obtain a clear understanding of ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels and their applications
- Provide underground utility flagging “designation” with proficiency utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnet equipment and other geophysical means.
- Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and all other underground facilities that would affect excavation of a site
- Mark utilities with flags and/or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by the client.
- Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment or “hand dig” to verify utility characteristics.
- Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment, and work sites
- Research all utilities that may be on a site prior to entering the site
- Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters
Requirements:
- High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
- Experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus
- Basic computer skills and can learn and understand new software.
- Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
- Ability to travel (If Needed - Up to 50% of the time)
- Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
- Knowledge of equipment and ability to set up for different work situations
