Job description
Under general supervision, functionally supervises, coordinates and oversees activities of the substation construction and maintenance crews; performs a variety of skilled electrical work associated with installation, maintenance and repair of high and low voltage electrical systems found in substations, control buildings, and underground facilities; prioritizes and schedules work assignments for work units or crews; reviews work in progress; resolves problems; ensures availability of appropriate supplies, materials and equipment; ensures district complies with applicable regulatory standards and district policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school equivalency, successfully completed a four-year state certified substation electrician apprentice program, attainment of journeyman status and six years of experience in construction, installation, maintenance and repair of high and low voltage electrical systems found in substations, control buildings and underground facilities.
A valid driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
A valid California Class A driver's license may be required, as determined by supervision, for specified employees in this classification.
An official current driving record (obtained within the last six months) from your local State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or from official DMV website must accompany job application (no third party records accepted).
