Job description
To promote a positive school climate and to support instructional staff and students through consultation and direct services related to a student's social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Duties to include: -Promote a positive school climate in support of academic excellence.-Provide direct short term consultation to staff to address specific behavioral concerns. -Facilitate restorative conversations.-Respond to and provide direct support to students in crisis.-Provide individual and group counseling to identified students.-Work closely with the Opportunity Room and Student Support Center staff to support students in the development of strategies for conflict resolution, and coping and response mechanisms to help avoid future behavioral incidents and better prepare them to succeed both within the classroom and in society through restorative practices.-Make referrals to long term care/resources to best meet a student's and familys needs.-Collaborate with community partners and support the management of grants.-Implement, integrate, and evaluate a universal screening tool.-Develop, modify and implement social and emotional engagement strategies, events and activities with a specific focus on topics such as restorative justice, school climate and culture.-Encourage parental involvement in a students education and ensure effective communication with our school.Applicants that possess a Master's degree and are a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor preferred.learninglandscape.com is the go-to platform for job seekers looking for the best job postings from around the web.
