The primary responsibility for this role will be the design and proposal of store layouts, fixture plans & building elements while applying a thorough understanding of brand standards and prototypes thoughtfully applied to site specific footprints within project schedules.
Role Responsibilities:
  • The Store Planning Specialist will utilize or collect and create existing as-built fixture plans and supporting documentation to develop preliminary phase architectural plans for new stores, remodels, expansions, acquisitions, special projects, department upgrades and rollouts (per area of responsibility) for the retail client.
  • The candidate will participate in the development of fixture and equipment blocks, macros, LISP’s and data extractions which enhance efficient drafting opportunities and provide key business partners valuable plan data.
  • The Store Planning Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate existing as-built fixture plans and supporting documentation to our clients. The candidate will perform surveys in multiple retail locations to determine/verify existing conditions and apply in 2D AutoCAD files. The Store Planning Specialist will be responsible for photo/video documentation of store conditions to complete the Survey package. Framework & Guidelines:
  • Prepare and distribute fixture plans for client stakeholder consideration throughout the development, review & approval processes.
  • Apply brand standards, complete applicable revisions, and distribute to internal business partners.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to compile strategic recommendations and comply to target budget(s).
  • Support business partners as defined or as needed to develop space and planning analysis.
  • Develop store fixture plans that resolve and satisfy the requirements of the project. Process involves preparing for and attending scope meetings, revising fixture plans as necessary and distribution with supporting material to client.
  • Adapt brand prototypes, incorporating master equipment information and custom fixtures to each store layout.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects within defined schedules.
  • Document change requests and issue revisions per company processes.
  • Manage project through collaboration with design, construction, and business partners to resolve issues throughout the store development process.
  • Contribute to the re-development and maintenance of block libraries utilizing advanced AutoCAD skills.
  • Support maintenance of accurate cut sheets in organized manner per company guidelines.
  • Apply advanced AutoCAD skills to facilitate seamless delivery of extracted data to business partners
  • Adhere to established organizational processes.
  • Maintain drafting standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support both internal and external partners on AutoCAD and computer related issues and functions.
  • Participate in creating efficient AutoCAD work processes and tool development within associated software
  • Complete assigned field/site surveys
  • Incorporate field verification to existing 2D plans
Interactions and relationships:
  • Collaborate with internal project team from various departments (e.g. Store Planning, Construction, Décor & Signage, Equipment Purchasing) and client’s Architectural and Engineering consultants.
  • Present completed plans to project and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to develop best practices to efficiently support partner needs through reliable drawing intelligence and data extractions.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Commercial Planning or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience preferred
  • High level proficiency with AutoCAD & coordination with other apps/software
  • Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with construction documents and specifications
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time (Remote Position with potential requirement to travel to nearest office for onsite meetings or other requirements (including site visits) as determined by manager).
Knowledge:
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD with technical development skills
  • Reading and understanding of construction documents
  • Knowledge of Architecture, Engineering, and Design
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite with Superior Excel skills
  • Microsoft 365 Collaboration Apps/Tools
  • CSSP (Certified Supermarket Store Planner) - ideal but not required
  • Familiarity with Adobe, BlueBeam and Sketch-Up – ideal but not required
