An excellent opportunity for a Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler with experience staffing three shifts and weekends for a skilled nursing facility using a computer based staffing software. Having experience working as a C.N.A. is important as is having a positive approach to working with others.


SUMMARY

Staffing Coordinator ensures adequate and appropriate staffing of the Facility’s nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget, census, and as may be directed by Facility administration or Human Resources Director


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All essential functions should be reviewed with the Human Resources Director upon completion of the 90 day probationary period and no less than annually thereafter to evaluate performance and establish new goals if results are not meeting expectations.

  • Maintains a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers.
  • Maintains daily tardy and absenteeism calendars
  • Reports to Director of Nursing Services (DON) all employees with excessive tardiness or absenteeism, in accordance with facility policy.
  • Assists employee with accurate completion of forms, (i.e. time off, sick days, change of status, time cards, etc) pertinent to scheduling and staffing.
  • Completes monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to assure appropriate coverage of units.
  • Completes and post time schedules. Coordinate variances with the DON.
  • Answers employee calls regarding staffing and scheduling functions. Prepare written correspondence, as necessary.
  • Ensures newly hired staff has time schedules prior to completion of first day of orientation.
  • Provides weekly reports to Human Resources Director of any open positions within the Nursing Department.
  • Assists Nursing Department by scheduling appointments and obtaining transportation for Residents requiring outside services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school degree or equivalent.
. One to two years of experience with staffing for Nursing and preparing daily census.
  • Typing, filing, correspondence composition and computer skills required.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess the ability to handle a variety of assignments, some of moderate complexity and requiring considerable familiarity with the operating details of the facility.
  • Must possess the ability to interpret and apply departmental procedures.
  • Must have strong, positive interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate discretion in handling of confidential information.
  • Must have a sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Must possess the ability to form independent decisions in absence of
  • supervisor.
