The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered 100% Staff Nurse (40 hours a week) to work in our UICC Urgent Care and QuickCare Clinics. Our Urgent Care and QuickCare Staff Nurses are responsible to assess a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric and ensures patient care standards are met and provides access to additional care options not normally found at your traditional walk-in clinic including X-rays, IV fluids, and stitches. This position is part of a dynamic and fast paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages team work between multiple disciplinary team to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. Standard shifts will be Monday - Friday but shifts could vary based on clinic need and will include providing care coordination to include but not limited to supporting our InBasket workflows.

Duties to include:

• Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
• Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
• Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
• Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response.
• Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan.
• Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care.
• Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Flexible hours; 5 – 8 hour shifts to be accomplished between Monday - Friday 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM; no holiday or weekend time, no on-call time.

Salary $52,701 - $95,431 (based on years of experience)
