Your Next Career Opportunity – Financial Analyst II - SBA Edge
The primary function of this position is to support accounting and financial control work for SBA Edge, the data center subsidiary for SBA. This position will report to the Director, Financial Operations – SBA and assist in activities associated with month-end close processes, budgets, financial results, financial analyses, AR and AP, vendor management, and tenant processing. This position is also responsible for providing financial information to management by compiling and analyzing account information; analyzing accounting options; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other special reports; reconciling discrepancies and auditing documents.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains and prepares recurring journal entries for multiple entities.
- Maintains sub-ledgers across multiple locations and ensures proper revenue recognition and accrual accounting into the system.
- Prepares, reviews and updates monthly general ledger close processes including analysis and commentary presented to management.
- Reconciles an assigned set of cash accounts monthly, research issues reconcile items and outstanding checks, and proposes necessary adjustments as needed.
- Assists with the preparation of financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Statements of Cash Flows.
- Prepares account reconciliations for assigned areas. Works with other departments to obtain the necessary information to create monthly/quarterly accruals.
- Assists in budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
- Communicates with vendors and customers to resolve AP/AR issues.
- Balance all cash applications, unapplied cash, and non-AR entries to ensure the total cash applied matches the customer payment.
- Resolves issues concerning vendor invoices, vendor inquiries, and all centers' requests; assists Operations staff with inquiries and issues.
- Works cross-functionally with other team members groups within the company.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study;
- and 3-5 years experience in accounting with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the month-end close process, GAAP, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, and general accounting cycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
- Domestic Travel
- Valid Government Issued Driver's License
