Staff Accountant
Job description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to perform and coordinate tax & accounting duties for our clients. The Staff Accountant’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, preparing business and individual tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other tax & accounting duties as assigned. Within our CPA Firm, a Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of our client engagements.
To be successful as a Staff Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong financial analysis skills, and knowledge of tax preparation. An Staff Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented and highly organized.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Preparing general accounting entries for clients and preparation of financial reports
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assisting with annual audit, review, and compilation engagements.
- Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns for businesses and individuals.
- Performing other tax & accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Staff Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 2-4+ years of tax or accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Ability to work well within teams
Base salary of $55k to $65k, plus overtime and bonus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
