We are looking to hire a talented Sr. Manager, Cloud Engineering!

The Sr. Manager, Cloud Engineering will be responsible for leading the team that manages all the systems and sub-systems for our Azure cloud platform. This person will be responsible for the architecture and strategic direction of the platform as a product, ensuring platform stability through automation, systems monitoring, establishing & reviewing performance baselines & metrics. Works closely with Product Management, Development, QA and Engineering to ensure the success of the platform. Align Product, Development, & Engineering on the introduction of new technologies to ensure site reliability and efficiency. Assists management in strategic planning, process improvements and cross-functional improvements relating to operational responsibilities of the platform.

What you will do:

• Demonstrate strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud management & administration including environment provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security.
• Lead a 4-5 person team of Cloud Engineers, on and offshore
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, setting strategy and analyzing new Cloud technologies
• Engage in troubleshooting support escalations and act as technical Cloud infrastructure lead role during Major Incidents
• Analyze existing operational standards, processes, governance, cost allocations, present recommendations to modernize or improve, and then execute on said improvement.
• Design, and implement highly available, multi-region, Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
• Must have good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering Principals: e.g., Monitoring, Observability, Release Automation, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, PowerShell)
• Ensuring all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards.

The ideal candidate:

Education

• Four-year college degree in a computer related field.

Experience

• 5+ years technical leadership and people management
• 7+ years of technical hands-on Infrastructure exp.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud
• Proven track record of managing and developing engineers in an on/offshore delivery model
• Experience in managing small projects; Manage incidents and requests within SLA; create Agile stories and tasks.
• Must possess a solid understanding of Linux OS and Windows OS

Specialized Skills

• Knowledge of scalable architectures using Azure App Service, API management, serverless technologies, container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc.), microservice frameworks, etc.
• Familiarity with Azure cost optimization concepts
• Strong oral, written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
• Ability to work in fast paced / rapidly evolving environment
• Working within a SAFe Agile framework

Starting salary range: $130000 - $145000 / year
