Job Summary


As the Specialized Operations Support at Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) for the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), you will help lead the support of the specialized systems and software for the MDH Lab. As the primary support, you will keep the critical infrastructure and applications operational and will identify opportunities for modernization and to maximize the supportable of the environment. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting, coordination, maintenance and administration of an IT infrastructure.

Experience must include the following:

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 in an enterprise environment
  • Experience supporting computer hardware and printing in a network environment
  • Knowledgeable in vulnerability remediation and patch management
  • Experience in a lab setting
  • Knowledge of scripts/scripting such as Powershell, CMD and/or Ansible

A Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field may substitute for three years of experience, related Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years, or related Associate's degree may substitute for one year.

  • Technical decision making with limited resources and precedence
  • Sophisticated troubleshooting ability, including the ability to create and test hypotheses based on relative likelihood, and a willingness and ability to creatively consider all possible causes for a problem and test appropriately
  • Communicating and training on technical issues to non-technical employees
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors
