POSITION: Special Needs Assistant to Millis Public Schools Extended Day ProgramSHIFT HOURS: Based on needs of the children. Options will be discussed with the right candidate. There is potential for as much as M-F 9:30-5:30 or as little as 2 days per week 2:45-5:45.QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years experience as a behavior interventionist/counselor. ABA or RBT cert preferred.Expertise in the field and knowledge of EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disabilities).Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is preferred.Knowledge and ability to implement physical management training required.Training in Safety Care preferred.At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred Bachelor degree preferred Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required In this role, an individual works during school and after school hours to build the capacity of the extended day community to support and intervene with students experiencing behavioral dysregulation; often in collaboration with other support staff as well as the programs Behavior Consultant.Duties of Special Needs Assistant include: Model and manage positive behavior support approachesSupport staff members in addressing the needs of children with ASDImplement supports to students with learning differences (to include individualized program access care)Train and support staff to manage behavioral situations Design, develop and implement behavioral interventions in conjunction with the programs Behavior ConsultantMaintain appropriate records, assist and provide guidance to other staff in the implementation of behavioral interventions.Carry out other responsibilities as designated by the programs Behavior Consultant or Director of Extended Day Programs.
