Randstad Engineering Solutions is looking for a mid-level software engineer to join a machinery company in developing autonomous vehicle software in the Indianapolis, IN area. This would be full-lifecycle development, from requirements development through testing. This is a good opportunity to get some experience with the Robot Operating System, path planning, motion control and collision detection and avoidance.
Required Skills -5+ Years of experience with C++
Development experience in a GNU/Linux environment, including GNU compiler tool chain, and debug tool
2+ Years experience with Python
Job Duties -Develop and execute test plans and test cases for outdoor autonomous mower systems.
Collaborate with software developers and engineers to deploy and test autonomy-related software in outdoor environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware issues, providing hands-on support as needed.
Analyze test data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
Job Requirements -B.S. or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
5+ Years of experience with C++
Development experience in a GNU/Linux environment, including GNU compiler tool chain, and debug tool
2+ Years experience with Python
We are looking for someone who will enjoy getting outside and test driving the product.
Desired Skills & Experience -Experience with Atlassian software development tools (including Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) and automated build tools including Docker.
Familiarity with a Data Distribution Service such as the Robot Operating System (ROS) software framework
Knowledge of autonomy-related algorithms for mobile robotics such as path planning, SLAM, motion control, sensor fusion, collision detection and avoidance
Use of IOT / cellular connectivity and cloud processing for data analysis
