Lucia Landscaping located in Roseville, MI is a Top 100 Snow Contractor in the US and one of the 2021 Crain’s Coolest Places to Work. We are preparing for the upcoming winter season by hiring a Snow Area Manager with great leadership and communication skills. Become part of an award-winning Management Team by managing shovel crews, plow tuck and heavy equipment crews in a designated geographic area. The Snow Area Manager requires exceptional communication skills, truck/equipment knowledge and comprehension of snow management.
Snow Area Managers are responsible for:
- Monitor weather conditions, forecasts, and predictions for potential snow and ice management events
- Correspond with employees, sub-contractors, and temporary workers to establish expectations, event start time and time card verification
- Training and coaching of Team Members onsite and pre/post event
- Organize operational elements, including but not limited to, dispatch board, electronic route sheets, event packets, trucks, equipment, and material needed for all teams
- Give assignments to team leaders with site maps, budgeted hours, key notes, time sensitive expectations, and other necessary information related to specific route
- Monitor field operations during duration of storm. Focus on safety, efficiency, quality, and communication demonstrated by team.
- Review property damage – make sure photos have been taken, incident report is filled out and everything is turned in to HR Department.
- Document per storm event notes to review with team after completion of storm. Coach and counsel in field, when applicable
- Communicate with Snow Dispatcher regarding need to know information, status updates, broken equipment, and personnel issues
- Ensure all assigned properties within jurisdiction are completed and up to Lucia Landscaping quality and standards at the end of each event
Qualifications/Requirements:
The Snow Area Manager should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of snow plowing, salting, front end loaders, bobcats, etc; required
- Valid Drive License, in good standing, and clean driving record; mandatory
- Valid Chauffeur License, in good standing, and clean driving record; preferred
- Valid State of Michigan Department of Transportations (DOT Card); preferred
- Be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run; required
- Strong ability to multi-task, stay organized, and communicate effectively; required
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times; required
Snow Area Manager begins as a seasonal contract position, December thru March, with the potential of full time year round work based on candidate preferences and subject to performance. If hired for full time position eligible for:
